Pax - Sara Pennypacker

Just a glance on a book is enough to say that this is a story for kids. Indeed, this book was awarded in category – literature for children. But I think this kind of literature can teach adults as well. And “Pax” is definitely one of these books that can teach everyone.
The story is about a boy – Peter and his best friend Pax that is a fox. We don’t know anything about a place where action takes place, just that there is a war. Peter’s father goes to the army and the boy has to live with his grandfather, who he hates, and also he has to leave Pax. According to Peter’s dad – the fox has to come back to the wood. This information is heartbreaking. That’s why during the night Peter goes away from grandfather’s house and tries to come back to his own house which is 500km away. He hopes to find Pax.
In the meantime, Pax learns how to survive in the wood. He meets other animals and starts new friends, but he still misses Peter.

We read some chapters from Pax point of view and in some chapters we observe Peter’s travel. This is really touching story about love, friends, determination and sacrifice which I recommend everyone.
