Dura lex sed lex
Hi everyone!
As you know I am student of French studies at University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. But I am also student of law at the same university. That's why I want write today something about law.
During my studies I noticed that a lot of people have no idea about law in our country. I don't think that we all should know criminal law, civil law or constitutional law very well, but I think that we all should know the basics. Our behaviour is usually limited by law - statutory law, common law or moral standards because moral standards are often fundamental norm of statutory law.
To come back to our topic, we don't need to know every codification (the lawyers are for that), but I believe we should know these regulations which are important for us, e.g. labour law or medical law. Medical law is often forgotten by lawyers (except these who have a specialisation from health law) and it is real damage because it's really important. Health law adjust not only matter of responsabilities of personel but also clinical examinations, patients right or charges for our results. These are very important things which are beneficial but we don't use our rights because we have no idea we have them.
That's why we should from time to time check something on the internet in these codes who can be useful for us. Sometimes, if it is an important change, we can hear it or see it in the news. This is really helpful, but we should be aware, because media interpret law like it want not necessary like it should be.
