Holidays or job?

We have June. The weather is hot. This is not a surprise we all dream about holidays. For some of us, like me,  holidays means work. I really like my summer job because I spend a lot of time on fresh air, at the seaside. I am a lifeguard and a caretaker on summer camps. I enjoy working with kids who have amazing ideas.

The hardest part is to be serious when you want to laugh. For instance, last year, nine years old boy took from canteen the tea bags. I saw it one but I thought it's OK, maybe he wanted to drink some tea in his room. But few days later I came to his room to check if it was clean and I saw him, sitting on his bed with about hundred tea bags. He rolled them and glued with sticky tape so they can look like blunts! I really wanted to laught when I saw this, but he had to be punished. Fortunately, I wasn't the only caretaker and my friend helped me.
There was also really unpleasant situations. It was my last camp previous summer. In one group we had two brothers. The oldest had eight years old, the younger six. Let's call them P and M to make easier write this story. M, although he was younger, seemed to be more responsable than P. He took care of his brother, watched if he wasn't late for our gather. Everyone liked M. One day we went to the supermarket. When all were ready to came back to our rec center,  one girl noticed that M was staying next to the security who was holding his arm. My friend asked me to go with rest of the kids to center and she stayed with M. What happened? M stole from the supermarket a little toy and candy bar. We still don't know why. But it wasn't nice and I don't know who was more embarassed - my friend or M.?
As you can see, work with kids can be funny, but demanding. Unfortunately, there are some situations unlikeable too. I always try to remember that during these ten days I am their support and they count on my and that makes my job easier. After last year, some of my pupils still are writing to me from time to time. Then I know my job satisfy me.
